Red Eyed White is made from a Combination of the Acromelanic gene (cdcd) and the Cinnamon gene (pp). It was first noted in the UK during 1956 . [1] The cd gene acts as a mask to other colours, for instance a Red Eyed White could actually be genetically a Dove (aapp) that lacks pigment, similarly, a Black Eyed White due to being masked by the cd gene can be genetically a Black (aa)
Notes about Red Eyed White
It is commonly said that Red Eyed White isn't Albino because of the Cinnamon gene creating the removal of pigment for the eyes and ears and the fact the cd gene masks rather than removes pigmement, this is however false. The Red Eyed White and the Black Eyed White are both a form of Albinism known as Acromelanic Albinism. Acromelanic Albinism is the gene we see in Syrian Hamsters with the gene code "cdcd" and is scientifically classified as a type of Albinism. [2]
