Ivory was found in the 1960s. It's a pale greyish cream with black eyes and dark ears. [1] It has fallen out of popularity as of recent and is rarely seen in the pet trade although some are still found on the Show Bench occasionally.
Breeding notes
Ivory can look, to the untrained eye like a Black Eyed White. There are different variations of Ivory, the difference between eedgdg and eeSgsg is that eedgdg is a tad darker, whereas eeSgsg looks like a really washed out creamy white, it's often called "Silver Cream" or "Silver Ivory"
An eedgdg is often a bit darker. The eeSgsg variety is considered to be non-standard in the UK under the National Hamster Council.
The eeLglg variety of Ivory is considered to be extinct due to the rarity of the Light Grey gene.
